how does the transcoder work for the Rasplex client, if I play files remotely?
For example: Plex for iOS produce many small peaks on my PMS CPU during complete playback.
The Rasplex client produce 100 % CPU load all the time. Its not possible the play without buffering every minute, neither with 768 Kbit quality. Its a Raspberry 2 with Rasplex 0.7.0
On my iPhone I have no problems with a 4 Mbit streams on 3 devices at the same time.
Why its so hard to transcode for the Rasplex client. Is there anything I can do?

Are you sure you are transcoding to your phone? Maybe it is just receiving the original stream. If my system is transcoding processors are maxing out a lot. And I don’t have a very slow processor on my Plex Server.
The plex server log can tell you what is going on. You can also start a stream and logon to plex web and then click on the image of the currently playing movie (episode?). This will also show you whether a stream is transcoded.
Last: check the transcoding settings on your Rasplex and play with them, maybe some settings work better than your current ones.

Yes its transcoding for iPhone and Rasplex. All files are 1080p with high Bitrate and .mkv. Due bad upload all files are scaled down to 3-4 Mbit with the mobile devices and Rasplex.
I think that the transcoder for iOS somehow works better than for Rasplex although Rasplex has a greater number of formats.
I updated Rasplex the 0.7.1. now it works for some reason
