Rasplex support Sync

Wondering if RasPlex will or does support Syncing, If not do you think it will, all other plex clients (most) support this and having memory card with say 64GB and being able to sync would make this a great device also stop people asking can i play video off USB drive.

It does not and PHT which it is based on also does not although  it has been requested a number of times.

I’ve been trying to look through features and the HuBoard for RasPlex but didn’t find any info…

Is Sync still not an option?

The only clients allowing sync are mobile at this time. Not sure if that’s a Plex Inc restriction or not.

Sync is still not an option, but next release will have Play File as an option on the Home Screen (the same as Plex Black Edition Skin), this allows for playing any file on your SD Card or attached USB drive (copying files to your SD card/external USB drive is far quicker using your desktop computer than using MobileSync on iOS!).

Nice, looking forward to it.
My server is a desktop pc located in the bedroom, so switching it off late at night and still having the movie i want to watch available will be awesome.

Thanks. I’m looking to build a RasPlex for the truck. I wanted to be able to park outside the house and sync some movies so I don’t have to worry about streaming through a hotspot on the road.

My other question then: Will RasPlex play “pushed” content from an iOS device which has been synced?

Rasplex will play anything on your iOS device, just enable Settings-Sharing-Synced Content in Plex for iOS app and the shared libraries appear on Rasplex Home Screen and play fine, both devices have to be on the same network I think. I do not use this functionality but have just tested it.

Thanks again! Since I would be using this in the truck, I wouldn’t necessarily have any controls through my Aux connection and overhead screen. Can you also tell me if you can use an iOS device to control RasPlex?

Yes you can control Rasplex using Plex for iOS, there was a glitch in 1.6.0, 1.6.1 fixes it, should be out today/tomorrow.

Thanks for the answers! Got my RPi3 today. RasPlex installed easily, remote control from iPhone seems to work pretty well. Now I just need to find the right 3.5mm component cable to pipe it into the car…
