Rasplex with Managed User; cannot shut down or restart, only 'switch user'

Love Rasplex. Tried the new PMP for Pi for one evening and went straight back to Rasplex again! Been using it for years now, from an RPI 1 B at first then an RPI 2 when they came out.

Found one issue though. Recently I created a ‘managed user’ to use with it, as the ‘admin’ user in Plex has access to all libraries and I wanted to limit it to a few.

When I log into the Rasplex as the managed user I cannot Shut Down or Restart. Upon pressing ‘left’ on the TV remote (I only use CEC) I only have the choice for Switch User.

This thread: https://github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/issues/434 says its fixed in 1.02.

I did a search for Updates and, despite being 1.01, with it set to ‘Stable’ it found nothing. Also nothing under Beta. Pre-release showed me 1.03 so I chose that and it installed. I didn’t want to ‘Get Rasplex’ from scratch again as I have it set up just right; all the right boxes ticked.

The issue remains; when logged in as Managed User I can only switch user. Switching back to Plex admin user and I get my Shut Down (etc) options back.

Cheers

Andy

You need to enabled this in Preferences.

Go to Preferences->Appearance->Advanced->Skin settings and check ‘Show Shut Down and Restart to restricted users’

Brilliant, thanks.

That’s proper hidden, that is! You have to scroll down to see it.
