RasPlex with Xios support, kernel drivers

I really love this project, unfortunately I have a Xios.
Would it be possible to run Rasplex, would it be as simple as just compiling a new kernel with the correct drivers in them ?
I found the Kernel source drivers for the AMLogic chipset and the Mali 400 drivers over here https://github.com/fards/AMlogic_Meson6_030812release
It would be awesome if it would be as simple as just compiling a new kernel.

Can anyone explain what would be needed to make this run on the Xios ?

Looking forward to the replies!

This also seems usefull for some reason :)

Might be possible to port, but it would be a huge amount of work, as you wouldn't have the community the RPi has, and you'll run into lots of problems getting the OpenGL stuff linked...

Just buy a raspberry pi? 35 dollars won't bankrupt you...

isn't the xios android based? just download the plex android app?

Well although Plex Android is a very nice app for your tablet or phone.
It doesn't come close to the real plex client.

So I very much prefer to run the real thing.

its 51 EUR with a case (incl. VAT), without power supply, remote and or hdmi cable.

Anyways I already have a xios which also has a faster processor.

Why not make the project support more ARM devices if we can ?

massive mid-stream scope creep.... of benefit to all projects... oh, wait...

Try to port OpenELEC and RasPlex wil be able to run too… (Just create a GitHub issue - maybe they will work on it…)

Ok so I thought why not try the client ....

So I reinstalled Android and got the Plex client on there.

Its great for a phone and tablet, but it sucks for a media centre.

First it does not support Passthrough audio, so no surround sound.

And it does not support seeking with the remote.

Furthermore the menu's look like crap on a television.

So great for tablet, but no go for a mediacentre device.

I hope Plex comes for linux any time soon, so maybe we can install it on the Openlinux distro which is there for Xios DS

I hope someone can do the job.
