Rasplex with support for DisplayLink

I would like to be able to use DisplayLink as the display for my Rasplex. This is because of the setup of the projectors at the school I work at. Anybody has an idea on how to manage that?

Here is the information I have about the installprocess although on arch. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DisplayLink

I am not familiar with these 'DisplayLink' devices. I wonder if RPi is powerful enough to do that. Ofcourse, the model does also weigh in a lot [v1 A, B, B+ or the newest v2].

First thing that you'll have to research is the compatibility with OpenELEC [as RasPlex is build on OpenELEC] and whether these drivers are build for the ARM architecture [...and if not, how difficult it is to compile, configure and install them yourself].

I read something online about the driver built in the Linux kernel from a certain version. If you have RasPlex 0.6.0, that'd give you a way more recent Linux kernel than 0.5.1 or older, as those builds use OpenELEC 3.2 as their foundation, which is pretty outdated.

This might be something to read, as I don't know exactly what you are trying to accomplish [the DisplayLink line consists of multiple products]:
