Rating is applied to multiple songs (similiar songs but not equal files)

I’ve just noticed a situation where I rate a song and that song rating is automatically applied to another song with the same title from the same band. Probably the same happend already a lot of times in behind.

While they are some kind of “the same” songs they’re also some kind of… not. One is from the original album, the other is a remasterd version released about 15 years later. Plex shows both the different Album titles, album covers and the year. Maybe the same may occur to studio and live recordings?

Is this another so-called “feature” of plex?
For me it is another “make hard things easy and easy things hard” thing, because my assumption about the own files I brought into the system that I’d like to rate just doesn’t work. As it seems the rating is applied to some matching layer sitting in behind, nobody knows how to tame.
