I had access to my movie files on my Synology server about a week ago. I was working on moving all of my music files when I suddenly lost my connection between the NAS and Plex. For a while, Plex told me there was no secure connection. I deleted the Plex Media Server off of Synology and reinstalled it at the current version you see above.
Now, when I try to re-find my Plex files (via plex.tv), it tells me to download the Media Server - I already have that installed on Synology. I can’t figure out how to get Plex Media Server on Synology to communicate to my current Plex.tv account.
Also,when I go direct to my Synology NAS, click on Plex Media Server, then try to Open, I get this message - " Not authorized - You do not have access to this server"
This is the first incident I’ve had in a year, and it all started when I tried to move my music files in. I appreciate any help that you can give, and thanks.
Manually create a ZIP of PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server/logs and attach it.
We’ll confirm authentication is ok. (remember there was a problem with the API yesterday)
If plex.tv was working ok for you –
Uninstall the package with the KEEP (default action) option
Reinstall the same package using the “Plex Claim Token” option
– Get the token
– COPY from the browser
– PASTE into the window
– Let the installer and Plex.tv re-establish credentials.
I suspect the partial outage was more of the issue than anything else as “Not Authorized” will occur , even with all valid credentials, when PMS can’t confirm them with Plex.tv
Thank you for your reply. I just tried to upload the zip file of the logs and got an error message that the file size was too large (it’s 106MB). Is there another way I can get them to you?
