Read mkv metadata in plex agent

There’s already an existing suggestion discussing an option for Plex to read embedded metadata from MKV files. I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes. Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.

Support MPEG-TS or MKV metadata

My video library is in MPEG-2 Transport stream (M2TS) files and MKV files (most of these are DVB-files with DVB subtitles). When importing these files - Plex ignores the metadata. If I remux to MP4, all the metadata shows up but I lose the metadata. Could you please add proper support for metadata from different fileformats other than MP4? Thank you!
