Rearrange videos in a play List

I am unable to rearrange videos in play lists on my Nvidia Shield. Is this a known bug? I used to be able to do it up until about 2 months ago.

Last I checked this was still possible (seems to be working on my Sony Android TV).
Keep in mind you can only reorder “regular” playlists. The order of a smart playlist is defined when editing their filters.

Thanks for the reply. I have a Roku player and it works fine. And the play lists in question were created long ago and I was able to rearrange videos in them on my Nvidia Shield. Now the same play lists I am unable to rearrange the order of videos on my Nvidia Shield.
To be sure I am trying to change the order videos are played within the play list and not the order of play lists represented on the home page or in the playlist page.
I am a little confused as to what a “smart” play list is.

Working as described for me. My Sony is currently on Plex for Android 8.16.

  1. Open the playlist in question
  2. Navigate to the list item you want to move – for the selected item an up/down button will appear at the right side of the item (right of the date/year)
  3. Click on the up/down arrow and start moving the item

If it’s not showing and something might have gotten stuck – try to force quit and restart the app.

Definitely that was how it was working before. Now after I highlight the up/down button it no longer moves the video I selected. The cursor moves the “highlight” to the next video in the sequence as if I were selecting it. The original video is still “highlighted” though. If I keep scrolling the “highlight” just advances to the next video. So if I press enter it will just select that video to play.

I can reproduce this. Here’s a video, recorded on nVidia Shield:

Note: When I press the ‘up’ control, it looks like the selected item moves up one position. But the entire list is jumping, which is a problem I reported in December.

It would be nice to also eliminate video from the Play List.
