Recent update breaks transcoding

Continuing the discussion from Plex Media Server:

Since this update I’ve been having hang ups and long waits for the videos to play, not to mention also the added time it takes to load my home page literally only after this update.

I’m perplexed to say the least, H.265 Level 5 worked with no issue on my rather weak set up:
Dell R710 with a perc8 (i think) and a 14 bay storage, with a (messily) GT 710… yes i know this hardware is trash but enterprise equipment is mad expensive and were not all linus ok lol

Anyways this setup work FLAWLESSLY with 5 simultaneous clients streaming a variety of 1080p content: movies, anime, cartoons in both H.264 and H.265 and not a single hiccup. Then I took this update… and dead is all my streams besides lvl 4 H.265 and anything H.264.
My video card can “support” up to 13 H.264 streams with “only” 3 simultaneously and no H.265 says that website that’s been rating GPU performance with plex. despite what it says i can and have done better then there results.

STAAAAARE Now after all that (btw thank you for sticking with me till now) can i downgrade to the last version WITHOUT deleting the whole thing STREEEEESSSSSSS

EDIT: as a sanity check with hardware acceleration turned off it works fine FACEPALM

Are you sure the video is HEVC? I have not seen any issues related to that. There is an issue with AV1 that I am investigating.

And yes, you can downgrade to an older version without affecting your setup. If you are running the 32-bit version, you will need to uninstall the current version first. If you are running the 64-bit version, no need to uninstall first.
