"Recently Added" at the top of Home

Server Version#: Version 4.69.1

In the past, I guess it has been a few years now, whatever I added was always at the top of the screen and easy for other members of the house to see. Now it is a static/alphabetic of my categories. With dozens of categories it is not so easy to tell when I add something new. Is there a way to change this back so that the category that has the newest content is at the top?

I thank you in advance for your help.

A screenshot of the whole screen would be helpful to understand the issue.

 Hope this helps. I don’t have an old screenshot of what it used to look like as a comparison.

The S1 ‧ E2 at the top of this screenshot seems to indicate, that the main area has been scrolled downwards a bit.

Things to try (in this order):

  1. use a web browser without additional filtering. e.g. Chrome, or Firefox
  2. Disable web browser add-ins, like adBlock, NoScript, uBlock etc.pp
  3. use https://app.plex.tv instead of the old local web app
  4. go to Settings - Server - Manage - Libraries. In there, expand one movies-type library and Reset Customizations. Repeat with at least one tv shows-type library.
While you are there, make sure the checkbox ā€œMerge Recently Added itemsā€ at the bottom is ticked.
  5. reset the web app under Settings - Plex Web - ā€˜Show Advanced’ - Debug - ā€œRestore Defaultsā€

  1. check your server database for damage:
  1. activate debug logging (not ā€˜verbose’!)
  2. quit Plex Server
  3. wait 1 minute
  4. start Plex Server
  5. wait 5 minutes
  6. fetch log files and attach them here

Or inspect them yourself. Take a look at the Plex Media Server.log file and seek for messages about database corrupt or malformed.
If you find these, you may have to repair your database.
