Add the option to filter by unplayed the “Recently Added in [library]” sections.
This would not apply the the recently added in the home screen, but you can get this list by filtering your movie library by filtering on unplayed and By Date added.
There’s already an existing feature suggestion thread discussing such an option. I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to avoid distracting/dispersing votes.
I’ll therefore close this thread as a duplicate.
