It would be great if the Recently Added (or a substitute) could be filter driven. For example, show me new TV only, no movies. Show me only unwatched, etc.

Which gives you a barrage of episodes of all shows. It is also not setup to watch the next unwatched episode, but the most recently aired. The recently added feature is a nice concise list of shows with new things to watch. Not only that, but the next unwatched plays when you click on it. All very efficiently done.
2021 clean-up: implemented
- after clicking the hub header, the section can be filtered
- option to create a smart collection based on the intended filter criteria and make that collection visible on the home screen / library recommendations tab.
