Recently Added in Movies List is ALL WRONG

Server Version#:1.32.7.7571-13cdc68dc
Player Version#: N/A

Overnight, my Recently Added in Movies list decided to completely reorganize itself. Now super old movies are at the top of the list. This seems to happen all of the time. I used to be able to quickly fix the DB, but since Plex decided to change their DB structure and dates (to epoch time) it is a lot more difficult.

I am checking all of the movies in the list and none of the actual files/folders modified or created dates have changed. It appears to be something with the database.

Since I am a paying customer of Plex, I think it is completely reasonable to ask them to add a fix for this in the Server Troubleshooting menu. Just add a button that reorganizes the “recently added in moves” to the modified date of the movie file or the modified date of the folder it is in. I don’t think I’m asking too much here. As a paying customer, I don’t want to have to try to figure out how to modify the database, and it appears that Plex doesn’t want us to anyway.

Best regards,

Keith

  1. Disable “Empty trash automatically after every scan”
  2. Restore a database backup https://support.plex.tv/articles/202485658-restore-a-database-backed-up-via-scheduled-tasks/
  3. Verify the above check box is still empty.

This suggestion works, but it requires downtime and rescanning. Which is okay, but not optimal. There should be an easy way to fix it without taking down the server.
