"Recently Added" New Behavior

Server Version#: 1.25.0.5282

Since updating to server version 1.25.0.5282 Plex has started adding certain content to Recently Added Movies that it has never before added.

My folder structure is straight forward. Movies on a single drive. Top folder is “Movies 1”. The only subfolders are “Movie Title (Year)”. Each subfolder contains the corresponding vide file/container and related subtitled files.

Historically, if I have “Good Movie (2021).mkv” and then at a later date I add a mp4 version of the same film, “Good Movie (2021).mp4”, this second version would not show up in recently added. And it shouldn’t. Because although this file/container was recently added, the film itself was not.

However, since updating to 1.25.0.5282, that second version shows up in Recently Added.

Any thoughts on why this is suddenly happening and/or what can be done to avoid it?

Perform “Refresh Metadata” of your whole movie library. Let it finish the operation completely (You can start it before going to bed or something.)
If you already changed your tv show library to the new metadata agent as well, perform “Refresh Metadata” there too.

I refreshed metadata on all libraries. Before restarting the server, I also optimized databases and emptied the trash. I tested the issue with two different movies and the problem has been resolved.
