I used to own a TP Link Archer C9 and never had hardly a buffering problem ever while playing media from a local hard drive on my network. I have all of my devices hard wired via ethernet throughout my house.
My TP Link started to crash on me requiring me to replace it. Without much research I picked up a Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 from Bestbuy and set it up. Since then I’ve been getting constant buffering when playing movies 10 GB or greater in size which are typically of greater quality.
The router change is virtually the only change I have made in my system. Is this router simply crappy compared to the TP Link that I had or is there potential settings adjustments needed to be made with the new router? I can’t imagine it is my PC clipping all of a sudden as that would be quite a coincidence that it just started immediately after replacing the router but anything is possible I guess.
And I stress this is NOT a wifi problem - I am completely hard wired throughout the house and this is NOT an internet service issue either – I am playing local media.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
