Dropped my previous concept of having both streams embedded in the same video and did what someone previously had suggested after it was pointed out to me by my wife that I was already converting the video to 2D for viewing... why not just output it to the folder that has the 2D library in it... So now I just take the 3d move strip out the left eye and export it to my standard movie library.
I recently purchased a Samsung TV and installed PLEX for Samsung on it. I was pleasantly surprised when I played a 3D movie with a simple srt subtitle on it.
It work perfectly in 3D. TV switched automatically to 3D and the UI and the simple text subtltle showed correctly in 3D.
As you may know Plex for Samsung doesn't allow remote control of it. So I tried Plex for Android on an Android device connected to my TV and the 3D support is non existent.
XBMC also already supports 3D to show correctly subtitles and the UI. So any news on when other Plex clients other than Samsung will support 3D?
I agree, mk3d would be very nice because it's quick and easy to ripp a bluray 3D to mk3d, but to SBS or TB mkv we are to completely reencode the file, too long and not the same quality !
