I am setting up audio in a large yard that has speakers throughout, and I am looking for 1 device that I can cast a plex playlist to. I am so far considering buying a cheap ipod touch on ebay or something and setting it by the sound system input. Any other suggestions?
Chromecast Audio.
You can then use many other Plex clients to cast your playlist to it.
Like your mobile phones or tablets etc.
