Howdy folks. I am looking for decent recommendations for storage for my server. I am a home user that doesn’t share remotely (except a couple family members). I mainly store my UHD Blu Ray collection on this drive in MKV containers for streaming to Roku and Nvidia Shield devices in my home. I have cloud backup storage and the original optical media so a NAS or other resiliency considerations are not a concern. I mainly care about storage size and speed.
Currently, I am using a Seagate 5TB external drive (5400rpm) connected via USB 3.1 to a Windows 10 desktop running PMS. Seems to work ok but need to constantly defrag and optimize the drive or I get stuttering on playback. Want to get a bigger and faster drive.
Recommendations???
