I used Windows media center edition until recently, when they permanently retired the EPG, There was a useful feature where one could search for a program in the 2 week schedule ( a keyword, title, subject) and if it didn’t appear , there was a SAVE option for when that keyword eventually appeared. The saved keyword would automatically record when it appeared after the schedule is updated - the saved keyword never expires, can easily be removed when it is no longer wanted. For example , keyword search NASA, any program with NASA in the title or program description could be recorded when it becomes available.
A request for the same feature exists already, and it has more votes.
