Recording playing in slow motion on Android Sony TV

I have the film Edward Scissorhands recorded from channel 4 in HD. When I play it on my Sony Android TV app it plays in slow motion both sound and picture. The adverts before the film starts play at normal speed and it only slows down once the opening credits of the film start to play. I assume this is to do with the broadcast changing resolution or frame rate. The recording plays perfectly on the Plex app on my computer. Is there any setting on the app I can try changing? or is it just a bug in the current version of the Android TV app?

The same issue has been reported, and confirmed reproducible, over here Bug. Recorded TV plays back in slow motion; played perfectly before - #26 by MovieFan.Plex

It seems to be due to the change in audio channels
