I’m having a problem with the Dish Hooper Home Media Player connected to the Plex server via DLNA playing the secondary audio channel rather than the primary audio channel. Dish is clueless as to what is happening. If there is only one audio track it plays correctly, if there is a SAP track it goes to the SAP track instead of the primary audio. There are no settings to dictate which track to play. The solution would be to get Plex to record only the Primary audio. Is this possible?
I have a HDHomerun Extended tuner with the Plex Server DVR. Setting for the server and for the HDHomerun tuner are scarce. Right now everything is automated. Show is recorded as a .ts file. The Hooper does not recognized .ts files so it is automatically converted to a .mkv file with Smart Converter Pro 2 on a MacMini and placed into a media folder that the Hooper can play from. Smart Converter Pro has rudimentary setting for it’s watched folder, you can only pick a format, no other parameters so it processes everything in the .ts file.
I can manually put it through other software and convert the file deleting the SAP track but that takes human interaction and doesn’t make the program available right away.
Is there away to hit this at the recording end? If not I have to rely on Dish which means it will never be fixed. It’s a coding problem with the Home Media app not a setting problem. There are no problems with programs recorded through Dish it’s programs played through the Home Media player which I don’t think I ever got across to the script reading person who answered my tech support call.
It’s not a Plex problem either. My LG TV has a built in media player that plays the same files as they should be played. Also files play correctly through the Plex App.
