Thanks for that reference. I hope that’s related. Since the issue is seen with TVDB as well maybe it is a more widespread Plex Proxy thing.
Edit: TVDB is working correctly for me so looks more and more like a TheMovieDB thing … though 2 newer episodes picked up all info just fine from TheMovieDB (1 and 3 days per log) but older episodes are still missing data from further back. Guess I’ll just wait and see if I need to switch agents permanently.
Does anyone have any luck with episode 7? Still TBA for me…
Edit: I tried moving the episode out of the season folder, scan, then move it back in. It worked. The funny thing it’s that I tried this before with other episodes a few weeks ago but they didn’t always work…
WandVision S01E07 aired yesterday 19th Feb. For Disney+ shows like this they DO NOT RELEASE TITLES for the show before it airs which is why they are marked as TBA initially. So this would have been added to TVDB/TMDB yesterday when folks who moderate the show got the actual title name etc…
It then takes usually 24 hours for the plex cache servers to catch up with edits which is why this question keeps coming up but it can take up to 72 hours. Folks just need to be a little patient.
You’re better off just manually editing the title, summary, and banner than waiting on the mysterious Plex cache which seems to vary like a lot of people have already mentioned. Less headache.
I definitely had odd interactions with Wandavision EP7 - I actually did get the metadata within 12 hour window for Wandavision from TheMovieDB but not TVDB… though TVDB has been more reliable lately for refreshes … and other shows still not picking up so I wonder if there is more granular hits on the API as well as the hiccups @anon5074910 pointed out.
At this point, I’m just ignoring it, flipping agents, or doing what @apathtic suggested depending on the show/need. The inconsistency of it just irks me.
I added WandaVision on Game Day - edited the title (not only in the ‘TBA’ file that FileBot provided, but in Plex as well) - locked the field - next morning it was TBA.
The Nature of Things (with Confucius) comes up as it’s first episode in 201. It gathers nothing from TVDB for Episodes. 201 (AD?) is farther back than 1960. That much is certain. TMDB is a waste of time.
At this point I add an item then bend over.
I know what’s next.
If TVDB isn’t in my Rear-View, Plex is.
