Refresh Podcast Episodes Automatically / Scheduled

I’ve been using PLEX for some time and with Google Music dying, I’m trying to kill all my apps except PLEX (Music, Movies, Podcast player etc.).

  • I’ve set up all my podcast in the app and this is all good
  • For some reason, the newest episodes for podcasts will not appear as they are released.
  • There is no way to force a refresh or schedule a refresh that I can tell
  • This is a problem, as I don’t listen to EVERY episode, but I need a way to see all the episodes
  • This is a standard feature of all good podcast app - and I’d really like to remove the podcast app I’m using now and consolidate to PLEX.

I’m also encountering this issue. I follow a podcast that was updated this morning at 7 am Eastern Time. It is now 1pm Eastern Time and the latest episode isn’t on my Plex podcast feed. I wish there was an option to force refresh the podcasts, or request a server update. This makes the podcast feature in plex unusable for timely news podcasts.

One other thing - I started listening to a podcast around its episode 500, and between eps I’m trying to listen to the backlog. I’m in the low 400s now and I have to scroll waaaaaay down to get back to them after listening to the newest. We need an option to hide played episodes on the list.

Why does Plex never provide responses to this issue, which has been around for over 2 years now. I’m still waiting for daily shows to appear before the next day. What a POS.

I am also experiencing this issue. Wish plex would address it in some manner

I am also bugged by this; it makes the podcast feature much less useful for me. A simple “refresh now” option similar to the option to trigger a media file scan would be great.
