Refuses to find media on NAS

Hi Guys, not sure if you can help. Before i start i want to say im super novice at this stuff and dont know any Ubuntu / Linux.

I have two PI 4’s running. 1) Using open media vault as a NAS and the second running ubuntu and plex server.

I can acess the NAS folder called movies on my ubuntu and windows via the below addresses not an issue however if i use either addresses in plex media library it doesn’t find any media? Any ideas why not? The NAS has no password / username on it.

These are the addresses that work fine outside of Plex.

smb://local.nas/nas/Movies
smb://192.168.4.100/nas/Movies
//192.168.4.100/nas/Movies

Spent ages on this now and really dont have any other ideas. The drives even mounted in ubuntu and is showing / working fine. i cant work out how to browse to that within plex without manually typing the address in.

Make sure to locally mount the NAS drives in the OS that’s running your Plex Media Server.
If your server is running on a Linux system you can check out the tips & tricks section about Linux (in particular w/ regards on how to mount it and ensure Plex actually has permission to see their content).
On Windows it’ll mostly be about mapping the drive to a drive letter.

It’s mounted on the system so I can’t work it out. Annoying as it’s 99% done i just dunno how to make it see the files

May I be of assistance ?

I see SMB being used.
Have you considered using NFS? It is supported and native to Linux.

Hi I’ve enabled this now on the NAS. Any idea how I mount / access it or what the address is I need to put into Plex to make it find it?
