I’m having issues figuring this out. Now the titles of the second season aren’t showing up correctly. I want to get Roberta’s Blood trail to show up as a subfolder in Black Lagoon. I’ve attached screenshots of my naming process and my Plex. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Did you have a recent scanner ?
when major changed of which iteration of the scanner is called, caching issues can occur
remove the folders, refresh, add them back properly if caching issues are present
You put two separate series for anidb in the same folder, without seasons
I believe you have 29 eps showing as 24, scanner wise it’s already bad before the metadata agent tries to fetch data.
You have several choices:
. single serie with 2 seasons: “Black Lagon/Season 1/” + “BlackLagon/Season 2 Roberta’s Blood Trail/”
. Separate series at root: “Black Lagoon” + “Black Lagoon - Roberta’s Blood Trail”
. separate series grouped: “Black Lagoon/Black Lagoon” + “Black Lagoon/Black Lagoon - Roberta’s Blood Trail” + “Black Lagoon” as root folder as nothing will be loaded if “/” is root folder (on latest scanner)
It is an anidb tvdb metadata agent. please use absolute numbering or season numbering. i even included modes to show an absolute numbering as season numbering without renaming files. you can group sereis in a grouping folder but recent iterations of the scanner do require the inclusion of that folder as additional root folder. I had caching issues before due to plex behaviour and that kept the code simple and prevented unrequired folders from being loaded automatically giving more granular countrol

I just updated my agent today, so the scanner is 100% up to date.
How would I go about setting up absolute numbering?
TVDB has Black Lagoon as a 24 episode 1 season show, but ANIDB has Black Lagoon as two seperate shows (Black Lagoon and Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage). If possible, I would like Plex to see it as a one season show or a two season show (the second barrage being the second season).
I tried making separate series grouped, this was my folder configuration:
Anime
Black Lagoon
Season 1, Season 2, Black Lagoon - Roberta’s Blood Trail
I cannot get Roberta’s Blood trail to show up in the same folder as Black Lagoon, it always wants to populate separately. I would love to get the metadata to pull the episode information, since it is available (instead of creating a custom season with no information).
“I just updated my agent today, so the scanner is 100% up to date.” => well if you updated the agent only, the scanner isn’t updated…
“I cannot get Roberta’s Blood trail to show up in the same folder as Black Lagoon” => Wait, what? Do you mean to show Black lagoon as one series in your library ?
Anime/Black Lagoon/(“Season 1”, “Season 2 - Roberta’s Blood Trail”). That should import as one series two seasons is using my scanner. then the agent kicks in to put metadata. If it shows wrong number of series or seasons or episode numbers, it’s the agent responsibility and i need the filelist generated by the agent to reproduce . Without that filelist i will deny support.
I have recently migrated my Plex from the host Win7 to a guest Ubuntu (VirtualBox). The problem is that while I’d somehow managed to make it correctly recognise nested subfolders for related OVAs on Win7, I am failing to build the same working configuration on the new server. So, for instance, Plex scanned a Princess 69 root folder with the related 2002 and 2005 titles nested inside and correctly showed (neither as two versions of the same episode, nor as two seasons of the same Title) them in the library as two separate items.
Now, however, I can’t recover the same effect. When I first created a library in the new Plex server and pointed it at the previously used Hentai subdiraction with its folder structure, it simply ignored all the folders that had nested subfolders of related titles, and correctly showed single-title containing root folders.
Since then I have
installed the latest HAMA+ASS versions from github;
made sure that all Plex’ ports are forwarded through VirtualBox;
made sure that Plex was recursively the user and group owner of the /var/lib/plexmediaserver and that the permissions for …/plexmediaserver were recursively set to 775;
tried renaming the sub-folders as Seasons (in which case Plex started showing them in the library but as incorrect seasons of the same title, not as different titles)
tried adding [1], [2] to the subfolder names (didn’t work)
Can you please help me find what it is that I am missing?
The linked logs are for a temporary testing library (didn’t want to unnecessarily spam with metadata requests) that contains AniDB-1347 and AniDB-3310 in subfolders of …/Princess 69. I can make more logs if needed.
I noticed fairy tail has a way to have a structure that has a season labeled “Season 2014” how do i structure files to get this season to appear like that like how can i check certain series dile structure details to be sure im naming files properly and structuring them properly

Hi,
I have some problem with the movie scanner. It finds the IDs and the names, if I change the name language it changes the names, but it doesn’t download poster, synopsis or any other info for the movie (except for Bayoneta that was always working with it, even in the past). I use the latest versions, downloaded and installed from GitHub yesterday (clean Plex installation).
Also, something strange is, even after identifying the ID properly, Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death and Rebirth is named “NGE DR”.
Something’s been bothering me recently.
How exactly are we supposed to use anidb.id files?
I have some series that are not recognized automatically
If I add [anidb-####] to their folder names they are recognized on refresh.
If I manually create an “anidb.id” file inside their folder with the AID on the first line instead (both UTF and ANSI) - it gets ignored and I’m still left with unrecognized entries.
I followed your instructions on github (https://github.com/ZeroQI/Hama.bundle) on how to install Hama/Absolute Scanner. I am running Plex on FreeNAS. After creating my Library and going to advanced, I do not see Hama as a seletable agent in the drop down for agents. I do see Absolute Series Scanner under Scanners, but under Agents I see only Personal Media Shows, TheTVDB, & TheMovieDB.
I verified with your instructions that all files/folders are in the correct place “/var/db/plexdata/Plex Media Server/”. I connected as root using WinSCP over ftp to move the files to Plex.
I’m not sure what other information you may need as I am very new to this, Plex, and FreeNAS.
Any Help would be great.

Problem has been solved. It was a permissions issue.
Thanks for the awesome work and time you put in the make this awesome for us!
Yes tvdb has high resolution posters with fixed size while anidb has lower random resolution posters that look like crap. Tvdb allow to upload posters easilly, created a couples myself.
Check agent options. You can select anidb posters and it will display them if no tvdb posters are there.
I create html logs in agent data folders to allow people to update the metadata sources and wven list missing eps there…
Hello. My name is Rafael, i’m using Mac OSX El Capitan. I’m trying to add some few anime in my library, specially Dragon Ball, Z, GT Kai and Super and Saint Seiya Classic, Lost Canvas, Omega, Soul of Gold and the movies. When I use HAMA it apears the info, but no image, folder, theme songs… I jusr installed my system so evertything is fresh new. But omething is going wrong that HAMA can’t locate any image.
When I use other agent it apeers, but not the correct filenames… Can anyone help me? Im kinda new on that.
Please, explain in the most simple way possible, if possible.
The readme includes troubleshooting steps and logs to include which are missing so i guess you didn’t check the readme whose link is in my signature…
If you check agent logs it will confirm you are missing agent folders which the readme indicate will make the agent crash and cause missing series posters.
Please consider a donation if you didn’t follow install instructions in the readme… i recon you missed the agent data folders
