@ZeroQI @Dingmatt nvm. if i go in and check the tags i can see that it has got the metadata now. But for some reason the agent just changes the titles to “anidb-xxxxx” and the posters doesn’t apply automatically. I’ll just do it manually. thank you for the assistance.
@konachan please attach com.plexapp.agents.hama.log again as the anidb ib was assigned correctly and it seems the title is updated vut it doesn’t make sense and i still wpould like to solve it
@konachan It seems TVDB is having a few issues today, it could be that HAMA is attempting to gather some information from there site and timing out.
Is there a way to use AniDB as a primary metadata agent but with the standard plex TV agent as a backup / or the movie one? some movies/shows are missed, and a lot don’t have good poster metadata that the others do, but it does match things better mostly so I prefer to use it as the primary one. how do I do this? because in the anidb menu in server settings there’s no way to add other agents to it
On a per serie basis you can match with your desired agent
Hama use both anidb and tvdb so shouldn’t have issues but thetvdb was timing out today…
I write Hama agent, Anidb Agent is another one that use file checksum and is slow…
Anyhow started full rewrite of hama to be able to select the meta source on a per field basis, it’s buggy but functionality is there so after ironing out the bugs will be great
@ZeroQI Here is the log. It is strange b/c it does not grab the title, studio, and date. However, it does grab the tags and the poster image but does not apply the image.
Is adult checkbox ticked in agent settings?
since it is hentai it’s not in tvdb and there is a bad failover between sources.
The next version of hama is 80% done and will solve that as you can select the order of the source per meta field and will select the best order for each. Should have a usable release within 2 weeks. will post link here then and update github
@ZeroQI yeah adult checkbox is ticked. thank you for your work. looking forward to the next update.
Evening all,
Not sure if this is related to the HAMA agent or if it’s a Plex issue but it appears to be affecting just my Anime Library only. All of the episode information has pulled down successfully but I swear the episode tiles used to show a still image of the episode
Fixed my own issue lol, just refreshed the library and the episode stills are back weird…
Hi, I am trying to get HAMA to detect and display my Naruto collection correctly, but it still displays episodes 1-99 as s01eXX, episode 100 as s01e00, episodes 101-199 as s01eXX (2nd version) and episodes 200-220 as s02eXX.
I did the following:
installed HAMA.bundle in this folder : PlexMediaServer/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins
installed Absolute series Scanner.py in this folder: PlexMediaServer/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Scanners/Series
extracted Plug-Ins.support.folders.7z in PlexMediaServer/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support
What went wrong?
Thanks!
Please read the readme.
Ep number is managed by the scanner as specified in the readme.
Following the scanner readme troubleshooting section is the first thing that comes to mind…
The scanner logs specified in the readme would help figuring and reproducing…
To me it seems like the default scanner is set for that library and not my Absolute Series Scanner…
If that is the case, please consider a donation…
I did read the readme but it is VERY confusing. I have tried adding different guid.id files at the root of my serie, change the folder name, nothing works. I am using “HamaTV” agent to scan the serie. How can I make sure that it is using the ASS?
I’ve been trying to figure this out for hours.
@vizi0n edit library, advance tab, check scanner drop down.
Include the following logs (in any case, specify if file not present):
- […]/Plex Media Server/Logs/Plex Media Scanner.log (scanner crash info)
- […]/Plex Media Server/Logs/Plex Media Scanner (custom ASS).log (episodes info)
- […]/Plex Media Server/Logs/Plex Media Scanner (custom ASS) filelist.log (library file list)
I have created a new db on a separate Plex, and now I see tons of errors like this : “Grouping folder: ‘Naruto - Integrale VF/03-Arc - Examen chunin’ skipped, need to be added as root folder if needed”. Why doesnt it scrub every subfolder of the main folder? Do I really need to put everything inside the main folder?
@vizi0n now you use my scanner, so i guess you weren’t before? This log prove you have my custom scanner logs… The read-me mention this:
If you used to use “Grouping folder / Show Name / Season 1 / Show Name e01.ext” convention from the root, it will now be skipped. You can just add it as additionnal root folder in the library: “D:/Anime/Dragon Ball/” for “D:/Anime/Dragon Ball/[2] Dragon Ball Z” folder for example…
Default plex scanner does group every subfolder in a serie associated to the folder at root level…
Since your root folder is for a single serie, you just named the folders wrong. Try:
- Ark 3 Examen chunin
- [03] Ark Examen chunin
- Season 3 - Examen chunin (especially is using tvdb4 mode tu use custom arks as seasons )
This way it will be skipped and shouldn’t give the warning.
I guess it wasnt even though I had selected it in the properties of my library. That is why I created a new install on a different machine to try.
Naruto doesn’t show up. The library is empty.
I do not understand your example “D:/Anime/Dragon Ball/” for “D:/Anime/Dragon Ball/[2] Dragon Ball Z” folder for example…
So just to make sure I’ve got this right, everytime I add a new serie I need to add a new “watched” folder on my Plex library? Isn’t that a bit counter productive? I have many more series to add, Naruto was the only one used just for the sake of testing.
@vizi0n Plex Media Scanner.log indicate a crash.
Plex naming convention dictates the serie folder need to be in the root folder (the one added in the library). Plex default series scanner creates a season per 100 eps passes ep 199 and put all eps in a serie associated to the serie in root folder. So if you added both these folders, all dbz eps woulb be in dragon ball serie in library, hence the scanner blocking subfolders not being arcs or seasons…
- “D:/Anime/Dragon Ball/”
- “D:/Anime/Dragon Ball/[2] Dragon Ball Z”
You named the arcs folders a way that isn’t detected therefore it skips it. rename them using this formats:
- Ark 3 Examen chunin
- [03] Ark Examen chunin
- Season 3 - Examen chunin (only if using [tvdb4-tvdbid] and it will show arcs as seasons in Plex)
Im trying to add Tales of Zestiria X but i dont know which tag i should use. There is 2 shows on anidb but both were combined into a single season on tvdb. I tried anidb2-XXXX (anidbID) but it seems the scanner is just infinite loading in plex. the plex scanner log shows :

here is my folder naming

@saitoh183 The issue was well described but sadly lost time looking at latest code for no reason…
- scanner issue posted in agent thread.
- scanner read-me (link in signature) show the first step for Trouble - Update the scanner to the latest, and i wrote a power-shell script to update easily with 2 mouse clics…
- The 15th of march there was this update “Fix infinite loop issue when using anidb2 on Windows”.
- you use windows and anidb2…
