Seems to be an issue with update server, which includes GetRasplex, please download the appropriate image from GitHub and flash using GetRasplex, using select file and choose the file you downloaded. Our apologies.

We are working to get this fixed.

Regards

no need to apologize, i am the one who opted for pre-release. keep up the amazing work!

What is the arm and img downloads please on Gihub which one do i download please and do i extract this file

Right ive extracted the img file for rasp Pi 2 and is on my desktop is this the right one to install on my Pi 3. Then do i need to go to Getrasplex to do the rest

You don’t need to extract anything, just keep the file as an .img.gz file, fire up Rasplex and click on ‘select image file’ it will ask for the location of the file you downloaded then select ‘write SD card’.

Regards

Or follow the instructions here to manually update.

rasplex / Wiki / Update

Thats a very old wiki, some things have changed, easier to drop the .tar.gz image (from here Releases · RasPlex/RasPlex · GitHub) into the Update folder and reboot.

That didn’t work for me. I put the .tar.gz for RP2 (I have RP3) in the Update folder. Nothing happened If I reboot or power on.

Is Hyperion updated?

I didn’t enable the built-in hyperion and installed using hypercon, so far its working fine.

Sorry, my apologies, should have been just the extracted .tar file from the .tar.gz download.

I just want to say this new version is great! Appreciate the team’s hard work on this release.

rPI3 using an Amazon Echo as a bluetooth speaker is the perfect setup for my physically disabled users. Once the Plex Inc Team gets the official Alexa voice control working, they’ll have a fully hands off entertainment system. Thanks!

Maybe its a stupid question, but how can I extracted the .tar file on MacOS?

I tried

gunzip -c RasPlex-1.6.0.113-46fadd5e-RPi2.arm.tar.gz | tar xopf -

but I only get an Folder.

I have OSX set to automatically uncompressed .gz and .zip files, you could use Stuffit or any other free extractor.

Regards

just updated from “rasplex update” and everything seems perfect

I have long been waiting for the hifberry support for video . Does it now works out of the box? or do I still have to edit the text file to let hifiberry show up in the audiodevices?

You still have to amend config.txt, if you are upgrading and have already made the changes then they will be retained.

Regards

Woohoo Rasplex OpenPHT speak French !!!

Great release again, thanks to the team !!!

After updating I now CANNOT access the system settings within rasplex. It just takes me back to the main menu?

Also, the tiny link in the first post doesn’t work to report bugs.

The video calibration is way off to the left for this release for some reason by default. Have to move to back quite a bit. HDMI to Samsung TV.

Sounds like you have some corruption (especially with having another issue in you second post), this is not normal.

Suggest you reflash your SD card (Class10), possible causes for corruption are power and type of SD card, check your power supply is at least 2A for RPi0/1/2 and 2.5 A for RPi3, also check power supply cable is a decent one as there is a significant power drop on cheap, thin cables, which the RPi doesn’t like.
