I’ve been using plex for several years through relay for remote access and have a lifetime plex pass.
recently for another server I bought a domain and set up a tunnel through cloudflare.
this has been working well for a few months and plex is running on the same box so I wanted to get off relay.
I have two urls set up in cloudflare, mydomain.com and plex.mydomain.com
in cloudflare they go to my home pc running ubuntu
mydomain.com goes to https://localhost:port A
plex.mydomain.com goes to https://localhost:port B
I have set up a certificate in the “custom certificate location”
area of the network tab and added “https://plex.mydomain.com” to the “custom server access urls” box
From a browser all is well when I go to mydomain.com I get webapp A
and when I go to plex.mydomain.com I get plex. WAY faster than plex relay
The problem is when I disable plex relay in the network tab of plex to force the apps to use the new url.
not a browser to plex.tv no tv apps, phone apps nothing.
I cannot connect at all to my plex through plex.tv unless I have relay enabled.
What am I missing?
