Remote access / DNS problem - either Jacket works or remote access works not both

I have a fairly complex issue (for me at least), where by connectivity to my synology server is presenting an either-or situation. In the networking settings for Synology I can chose either Bond 1 or VPN as my default gateway. If I choose bond 1 then Plex remote access works, however another app on my serve Jacket (which I use in conjunction with Sonarr and Radarr) stops connecting.

If I choose VPN as default gateway the situation is reversed.

This problem didn’t use to be there and I think started a few months ago.

Is there a way to get plex to use one gateway and other apps the VPN?
