Remote Access disconnected

I’m trying to run plex on a Synology DS220J and I’m having trouble accessing it remotely with another device (mobile). I have opened the port on the router, and I manage to connect the remote access, however after a few seconds it becomes inaccessible again. What I can do? Thank you

Have you been able to take a look at the troubleshooting support article?

I had an issue with my VPN not working with it and causing remote access to go in and out. I changed to Express VPN and it works now but there are some quirks still when I am trying to sync or use the settings.

Finally, I upgrade the router firmware and it solved the first part of the problem (the remote access seems to be stable and green), but despite of this I can’t to connect to server with my mobile (out of the wifi) and I don’t know why :disappointed:

I still am having issues connecting outside of my network. I have gone through the troubleshooting page and none of it helps. Of course if I disconnect my VPN all works fine but with it running split tunneling set to have Plex not use the VPN still no joy. I get that the VPN is part of the issue but I was hoping to find help here.

I switched things up and I am able to get to my media from outside my network now. I am currently running the newest beta version of ExpressVPN 10.2.1.54 but I am not sure if it is that or just the change I made in the split tunneling.

I changed the split tunnel to “Only allow selected apps to use the VPN”. I added all of my browsers and Qbit to this list then fired it up. It has been working like a charm ever since.

Edit - 4/1/21 - and now it is broke again… I’m about to pull my hair out.

Express VPN will not work outside your network. I switched to Private VPN which has port forwarding. That is what you need to make it work, a VPN with port forwarding.
