I’m currently having issues with remote access to my Plex. I am currently running Plex on my Synology NAS DS+916 and I also have a VPN running on the Server. I’ve applied port forwarding on my router for plex and manually applied the Port number on plex itself and I’m still running into the Double NAT scenario. Am I missing a step? Can anyone help me out with this?
Windscribe offers a solution for this.
You need to sign up for the pro account then purchase a static ip. I went for the data centre ip rather than the residential.
I sign my laptop into windscribe BEFORE starting up my plex server and select the static ip address from the option of servers.
You also need to set up a rule in windscribe to open a port.
My main internet connection is a huawei b525 4g router. Now the Laptop isn not relying on my mobile network to hand out a public ip (which changes about 10 times a day).
My plex server is not fully accesible outside the network. I havent changed or opened any ports on any of my devices.
