Remote access not working anymore

Remote server was working fine but now it always says cannot play media file. The remote server shows fully online and my movies load up but when I go to play them it says cannot play media file. These are movies I’ve played before. thanks.

I have noticed something similar in certain situations. Although it was on a test build I was running with weird networking.

What type of system are you trying to play the files on? Are you using a vpn?

No VPN. Windows 10 desktop always connected straight to the router which is configured with manual port forwarding.

Do you have relay enabled?

I’m not sure what that is. I will have to look that up.

I still can’t find the relay option but it seems to be an issue with converting to a lower quality. I changed the setting from 1080p to maximum quality and it is working but when I switch it back to 1080p it says cannot play media. I am viewing on an Android phone.

That’s interesting. I don’t know what to say about that.

You can learn about relay here. To enable it, check the Enable Relay box in Settings → Network near the bottom of the page with advanced options showing. It limits playback to 2 Mbps, but it’s something that could help test.
