Remote Access not Working with Nord VPN active

Player Version#: I have the latest version on all my devices as I always update the server and player to the latest version.

I finally managed to create a port forward in my router, and the remote access works perfectly now!
But, as soon as I turn on my Nord VPN connection the Remote access stops working(!)
I tried the solution below but it does not solve this issue:

1 Disable the VPN
2 Launch Plex Media Server
3 Ensure that the Server successfully signs in under Settings > Server > General
4 Enable the VPN

Is there a workaround to make remote access work together with my VPN?

Let me know if screenshots or logs are needed and I will provide it.

I have the same issue but with PIA VPN. As soon as I enable the VPN Plex no longer is accessible from outside my network. Any suggestions?

mine wasn’t working with nord then i found the split tunneling instructions and it worked for a short time, now it is disconnected again

The problem is also that Spilt tunnelling is not currently offered with Nord VPN for Mac, but if it do not even work with other Operating Systems, then it seems to be an issue with Plex.
Interesting that no one from Plex are chiming in on any of these threads that addresses this very issue.

If your VPN provider can’t provide port forwarding, or reliable split tunneling, then you will have to fall back to Plex Relay (or build your own relay proxy, which is way beyond the topic of this discussion).

Actually this solved it!
I followed the instructions on the Nord VPN website regarding Private Relay at How to set up a Plex media server and access it remotely | Meshnet docs

Under “Allowing Meshnet connections” there are instructions and it involves creating a meshnet which is part of the Nord VPN subscription.

It might be a little complicated, but me who is not so tech savvy it was just to carefully read the instructions and now Plex works with (Nord) VPN.
