Hello,
Remote Access issue. Port forwarding is set up. Remote access shows Fully accessible outside your network.
But…
I refresh my browser window and then it says Not available outside your network. I click retry, it works and shows Remote access shows Fully accessible outside your network, I refresh my browser, back to Not available outside your network until I click retry. It goes in this loop constantly. Unless I am on my local network I can’t access my plex server remotely.
I don’t understand why it acts this way. I have Verizon FIOS with a Verizon g1300 router.
I have NORD VPN but have split tunneling set up with the PLEX outside of the VPN.
1.32.6.7468-07e0d4a7e is the plex media server version I am using.
Any suggestions? This is maddening! Unless I am on my local network I can’t access my plex server remotely.
There’s also a guide with some more details on how to troubleshoot remote access issues. If that doesn’t help fixing the issue, the outcome of the various checks could help to further pin this down.
Yes I have gone through the trouble shooting guides. I have set static IP address in my router and computer.
When I go to: https://canyouseeme.org/ With NORD VPN on It gives me an error of connection timed out. When I try and connect to 32400.
When I turn off NORD VPN: Success: I can see your service on 71.174.237.192 on port (32400 )
Your ISP is not blocking port 32400.
Ok so now I can access my library remotely. Looks like NORD VPN is the problem. I don’t understand why as I have split tunneling set up. I need my VPN on this computer…
Anyone have experience with getting NORD VPN to stop being annoying and blocking my port?
From what I understand, NordVPN doesn’t allow Port Forwarding. Their VPN service is so robust that, when it comes to getting them to open a port, they wont. However, even if I use Proton VPN or Surfshark, I get the same issue. Not sure if this was caused by the latest windows update, but that may be your problem as well.
