Remote Access on Home Assistant Server

Server Version#: Version 1.31.3.6868 | Using the Home Assistant Add-on version: 3.2.4
Player Version#: Version 4.100.1

I am running my Plex installed on my Home Assistant Server. For some reason though, I cannot remotely access my Plex server.

I can access my Plex Server by going to http://192.0.0.168.##.##:32400 (locally) but the remote access page says my private IP is 172.30.##.## with a port of 32400. I tried port forwarding both IP addresses (separately) but it never works.

While I am no expert (actually, quite clueless on this), surely I should be able to port forward my Plex server IP with the port, right?

Not sure if it matters or not, but I run my HA remotely through Cloudflare but surely I can still access Plex via my router. Could that be a conflict? Any assistance would be muchly appreciated as I have been googling for weeks without success.

Not sure why you are taking the time to obscure your internal IP addresses. 192.168.0.0/24 are private, non-routable IP addresses. If somebody knows the IP address of say your internal PMS they cannot get to it from outside of your local LAN. If, however, they are inside your local LAN, well all bets are already off…

My Home Assistant runs in a Docker container on my Synology where my PMS resides and works fine. You seem to be running HA from Cloudflare. Therefore it has to get into your home network. I’m not sure if HA accesses Plex strictly through the 32400 port. You need to port forward 32400 on your router. Then, from HA on CloudFlare you need to configure the IP address of your router.

On my system, I set up DDS with synology.me and configured the reverse proxy such that I can get to my home Synology machine from outside of my local LAN via domain names. Therefore my HA is https://home.defaria***.com and my Nextcloud (also in Docker on my Synology) is https://cloud.defaria***.com.

However, I would think you really wouldn’t want to put HA on CloudFlare as while it might work for Plex with proper port forwarding, HA will not be able to see any of your other IoT devices (lights, Nest Thermostat, etc.) since they are on your local LAN and not accessible from CloudFlare.
