I installed PMS on my Raspberry Pi 3B+, everything works fine. I can play from other devices in my home network. However there is a problem of remote access outside my home.
Due to the regulations of where I live, I have limited access to foreign sites, so I use one solution to work round this by setting up my router to resolve all the outgoing internet access, when the destination IP is from domestic, just bypass it, when the destination IP is from abroad, the request will be forwarded to a proxy setup aboard. For this PMS case, the remote access public ip is resolved as the proxy ip, not my router’s real IP from ISP, then as you know, I cannot access my PMS outside my home network.
My question is how PMS setup the public IP. I wonder which service IP or domain name it uses to test its public IP. As long as I know that, I can bypass it in my proxy solution, then my PMS will report the real ISP IP straightly rather than from my proxy.
Thanks a lot.
