Remote access to my Live TV

I have 2 married daughters that live in different towns.
I want to give them access to my Plex Library and especially Live TV from my HD-Homerun Tuner.

From what I’m reading, only members of a “Plex Home” can get access to the Live TV feature.
Is that the only way?
Do they need their own Plex accounts?
Are there drawbacks/consequences to setting up this way?

Joe

If you set them up as part of your Plex home they do not need an account with an email attached to it

Although not recommended because of security reasons there’s nothing to stop you from creating home users that live outside your home if your intent is to share your tuner

If you set them up as a separate user streaming outside your home they will need to create their own account with an email, but you are correct, they would not have access to your tuner

Thanks. That’s what I thought.

I wonder why regular “Friends” can’t access the tuner but can view my entire library.
Seems like a silly restriction.

Ever heard of Locast or Aereo? Google them.

Understood. It’s a legality issue.
