Why do I have to elevate an invited user to some kind of superuser to allow them to use my Live tv on my server??? Please fix this.
What exactly should be fixed?
Live tv is a „limited resource“ and depends on the number of available tuners. If you have 5 users who frequently access your server but only 1 tuner, you’ll want to consider whom to give access (e.g. limiting access to yourself and your immediate family to avoid others from „locking you out“). With that in mind, having a separate checkbox to enable access to live tv per user makes sense to me… maybe you could share some details about your use case?
Live TV can only be shared with members of your Plex Home.
And only make someone a member of your Plex Home, if they are a member of your family and/or are living with you under the same roof.
This restriction is very well intentional and not up for discussion.

OttoKerner. um, I am at a bit of a loss as to how to respond to you. You were dismissive and even rude.
The fact remains, no matter how nasty your answer is, that, in order to share MY LIVE TV TURNERS with other people, as I can share other media content, I have to elevate said user to a level I would perfer not to. The person I was giving access to the live tv is my wife and most certainly IS a family member and DOES live under the same roof. This doesn’t mean I want her to be some kind of super user just to watch the live t.v.

Your wife doesn’t need to be any kind of super user. You just need to add her to your Plex home and then you an share live tv with her account.
I guess I’m just confused then. I wish it was a bit more clear on what category a member was in, friend, Plex home, whatever and what that meant. And how to move a person from one group to another, etc. A couple of weeks ago, I added her and was able to share everything BUT live t.v. I bumbled around, reading forums and stuff and managed to get her access to the live t.v. but, it seemed like I was making her and admin of some sort by doing this. I just went back and checked and there is little to no information on what type of user she is. It just says she is a friend and she does have access to to live tv.

After spending a bit MORE time and poking around, I’m still not completely sure but I think I understand. There is a second category of plex home that you can add users that you’ve already added to.
It is a bit unclear and, I’m not sure how it could be made clearer if at all.
This thread should probably just be deleted as I don’t see how it adds any thing of value to anything.
