Remote Access unavailable because Router uses a "DS Lite Tunnel"

Hello,
I have recently installed Plex and it works great within my home network. However, the remote access gives me some headaches. My router supports UPnP, but that doesn’t work.
So I tried enabling port forwarding for the iMac which hosts the Media Server, but that does not work either.

Plex (and all other IP checker sites) show a public IPv4 address in this format: 2.215.XXX.XXX
When I enable port forwarding, my router shows an IPv4 address (for all devices) in this format: 192.168.XXX.XX

Now I’ve read that apparently my ISP (O₂) uses this “DS Lite Tunnel” because they don’t have an IPv4 address for every customer. I asked them if they can give me one, but because of the nature of my internet connection (cable — which they rent from Vodafone) they cannot disable this DS Lite Tunnel and thus can’t give me an IPv4 address.

This DS Lite Tunnel is apparently used to traffic all IPv4 addresses through IPv6 somehow. I am not very well versed in networking, but why can’t Plex recognize that IPv6 address?

I saw a workaround which involved buying a custom domain, reverse proxies (whatever that is) and setting a bunch of stuff up, which was quite complicated. I am not even sure that this would help in my situation.

Is there any workaround for this? Any way to connect to Plex Media Server through a IPv6? Or do I have something set up wrongly?

No chance of churning to another ISP?

It would have to be Vodafone, since they own the cable to our house, apparently. But not only do they have worse conditions, but it would not be guaranteed that they change it for me.
Apart from that, I am still within the 2-year minimum part of my current contract.

Plex can do IPv6, just open TCP port 32400 towards your Plex server (in your router’s IPv6 firewall) and it’s reachable.

Plex really should make it more intuitive/clear to users how to do it, there are hundreds of millions of people these days with IPv6 + no public IPv4.
