Server Version#: 1.13.9.5456
OS: Debian 9 (OpenMediaVault)
I have a problem with remote access since I moved my plex server back onto my OMV NAS system. The box has two interfaces, bond0 and enp3s0. The bond is the main interface and is on the subnet with the default gateway specified. The other is used only for backup/admin purposes.
I have specified in the network settings, that Plex should use the bond interface. That seems to work on the local network. It doesn’t work, however, for remote access. Plex is choosing the enp3s0 interface’s IP address for remote access and that isn’t what I need; it’s not on my main network and is slower.
Given that bond0 is the interface with the default gateway, why is Plex trying to use the other interface for remote access? How do I force it to use bond0?
I have limited options to do things manually; both interfaces are DHCP - against my wishes - because if I set up bond0 as static, some combination of OMV and Debian screws up with bond options and I get no interface at all(!) I’ve edited in the default gateway manually, directly to the interfaces file, for that reason.
While I’m on the subject - after many, long years, we finally have the option in Plex to force the interface for local clients; why not for remote access too? Surely a simple addition?! Or, why not have remote access use the interface set for local clients?
Any help appreciated!
