Server Version#:latest version
Player Version#: not sure . . . but they were working on remote TVs
So, FordGuy61 (or Otto, or anyone else with experience getting Plex to work with AT&T fiber optics service, here is what I am experiencing for the past 10 days. I can get great connection through my home LAN including high-res videos (1080). The quality is great with my Plex app on my TV and with my iPad as long as I am using my home wifi.
But I cannot get a high quality video signal delivered to my remote users. While I am getting 1080 at home it looks like they are getting only 360 on these remote users Plex TV systems.
By the way, I have AT&T “gigabit” fiber service from AT&T purchased through Toast.net. AT&T provided an Arris BGW210 modem/router.
About 10 days ago my entire internet system went down for 3 days. The problem was with AT&T and not my home network Ever since they “fixed” the problem my Plex system has been fouled up. I do not know what they did to mess up the settings on my AT&T modem/router, but it was working perfectly well before the AT&T service crashed and it has not been working ever since.
I have gone into my AT&T modem/router and it reports that “Remote Access is Currently Enabled”. But when I go into my Plex Media Server app on my media server it tells me that my “Direct Access is Not Enabled.” The remote TVs also report that they have only an “indirect” connection.
Nothing I have tried in either my AT&T modem/router setup or in my Plex Media Server app has been able to fix the problem
I went into the Firewall tab in the router setup, and select “NAT/Gaming”. I remember from similar problems a year ago that I needed to have a “Hosted App”, but there was no hosted apps on this system. So, I went into Custom Services and added a new hosted app, it automatically populated the fields with the “Plex Media Server” hosted app. I set it up with TCP/UDP: 32400, then click add, or maybe it was “save.” In any case, I believe I now have this Plex Media server in the correct box.
But it still is not working. I m at a loss with what to do about this problem. What should I try now? Please advise. Thank you.
