you must disable all firewalls on you linux box both ipv6 and ipv4 most of the communication is done one ipv4 but if you have ipv6 turned on get ip address and try ipv6 if same results you have a firewall issue first start off at the linux box and disable all firewalls and try to ping your ports if you know you have all your firewalls disabled go to your router and get the ports opened up once you get your ports opened up enable one piece of the puzzle at a time start at you router most of the time the problem lies with it then move on to the linux box
Cinnamon Mint 19.3ā¦Same issueā¦I am running a VPNā¦Port 32400 Forwarding in my Router (AT&T Hotspot-MF923)ā¦My Problem seems to be Firewall in Mintā¦When disabled, Plex Remote Access is greenā¦I have set up rules to allow the āCurrent Worker IPsā of Plexā¦Does not workā¦Any ideas on rules to set to allow the Firewall to accept Plex Remote Access would be greatly appreciatedā¦Thanks a bunch!!!
Remote access establishes a direct connection between the client and your server. So the opening your firewall for the IPs youāve mentioned will not help.
Thatās unless you want Plex to create a relayed/indirect connection⦠in which case the communication will run through Plex but youāll also experience the connection to be limited to 1 Mbps (2 Mbps for Plex Pass members)
Any ideas on Firewall configurations?
I suppose your endpoints have no static / dedicated IP addresses⦠so thatāll be limited to firewall rules for ports. So if youāre using UPnP⦠tcp/32400 or the tcp port you defined in the manual port forward of your router for Plex remote access.
Yes, that is correct.
