Remote Control from Android

Hey,

since the update yesterday i can´t control the current rasplex 0.3.1 new installed (after the error) yesterday via the installer for mac.

 

The Rasplex device could not be found from Android.

Any Guess?

Have the same issue. Think this has to do with the version of PMS not matching the new version on the Android device.

Because one can not see the Android device from the PMS either.

I run the PMS on my Synology NAS (version 9.8.10) There is a newer version available that I will try to install later on.

Same Issue here,

cannot see the rasplex device via android and the desktop server.

Running the Server Version 0.9.8.14 on windows

Same here.

I am still able to use the rasplex as a player(selecting video using a usb keyboard), which means that it is registering on the server, however my android devices don't see any rasplex players.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i figure it out,

the problem is that the new version supported only the new PLEX HOME THEATER softwere,

i tryed to update to the beta version 9.9.14 and its works, but i cannot play videos its automatically restart the rasplex

i guess we need to wait until the new version will be released.

Same here with my iPhone...

I tried killing the app and refreshing the player list.... still no luck. This was the reason I bought the app, hope it gets fixed....

I have found that the Plex 9 Remote app on Android is working for me on my Rasplex, so this should do until Rasplex gets an update.

The new release Plex app on iOS and Android broke the remote compatibility with PHT 9.9.xxxx.

We need to wait the next Rasplex release based on PHT 1.0.5.

Well, it looks like RasPlex 9.9.16 works well  :)

Hey guys, using 9.9.17 you should finally be able to use the latest iOS and android apps to control rasplex.

Thanks michael at error free for making the web app and open sourcing it though! It will definitely be useful to have around.

You can also cast media to RasPlex from any web browser capable of running the Plex/Web client (really a script app hosted by your PMS server). Using this is perfectly free, and it works identically for RasPlex like it does for the official PHT release. I just tried it myself, using the web browser Dolphin on my Nexus 7 to select and cast a movie from my PMS library to RasPlex running on my RPi in my living room.

In fact the current RasPlex v0.4.1 is based on the source code for PHT v1.2.2, which is the release immediately preceding the latest one (PHT 1.2.3), and they are almost identical in their functionality.

However, The latest RasPlex releases are so much faster in their GUI operations than the old versions that I find it easier to use a small keyboard with USB RF dongle to control my RPi, and navigate the library using my 46" TV screen. This is much more convenient than having to use the tiny screen of a phone or tablet to navigate my large media library.
