Hi,

I would like to control my Windows Plex via my mobile Android Plex. It works fine if is it only under Android Plex.

What do I have to consider and configure for Windows?

Does it even work with Windows Plex and Android Plex?

Please define ‘Windows Plex’.
There are currently 3 different Plex apps running on Windows.

If you install Plex Media Player (free download below) you should be able to do it, provided that your Android phone is connected to the same local network as the windows box with PMP on it.
Switch PMP into its ‘TV mode’
pmp_tvmode

I have found that this configuration change in Windows makes remote control work a little bit more reliably:

Thank you very much for the answer. Actually I’m working with Plex from the Windows Store. Is it also possible (Remote per Android)?

I will also test with the Plex Media Player - I will give you a feedback.

Which is the third solution?

I can’t recommend you to keep using it. It hasn’t been updated for ages and it shows.

The web app. But it will only work if:

  • you enable the functionality under
    Settings - Web - General - ‘Show Advanced’ - “Advertise as player”
  • there must be a Plex server present in the same local network
