Remote control plex for pc from Android

Previously using Plex Media Player for Windows (10), I could go into plex on my android tablet and remote control as it plays on my PC. This was handy when I am sitting at my other desk, and watching plex on my primary workstation’s monitor. I could just rewind etc from the tablet rather than getting up and using the mouse on that PC.

A while back at the apps encouragement I switched to Plex for windows and I no longer have that option, though I do still see my roku from the android app.

I also still have media player installed on my PC, so I started that, and confirmed I still see the PC from the android app when running media player, but don’t have the option when using Plex for windows, which again is what I use day to day now.

Is there a way to get this working on Plex for Windows?

Plex Desktop can be a controller, but not a receiver, of casts (i.e. you can cast from it, but not to it). The receiver capability did exist at one time, but was removed in June 2022.

Plex suggests using Plex HTPC instead (Plex HTPC is the replacement for Plex Media Player).

Plex Media Player, while no longer supported, can still be downloaded from the PMP announcement thread.

Thanks!
