Server Version#: 1.21.1.3830 (running on Unraid in LinuxServer Plex Docker container behind a nginx reverse proxy (linuxserver/swag))
Player Version#: Plex for Windows v. 1.25.0.1511-47afccd4 (Remote Playback)
I am experiencing this issue for the first time, because i normally only direct play my media in my LAN.
But now I tried pylaing my media over the internet (using quicksync for transcoding). Mostly the playback works just fine, it streams the media perfectly, and transcoding works just fine. But suddenly the playback stops and the Plex Player is thrown back to the plex startpage.
Then i can manually start the playback again and it plays just fine, till there is anther random stopping. In a 2h movie there are mostly between 2-3 random stops.
For better diagnosing i have started with clean logs, started a movie till is has randomly stoped and then i have captured the logs (attatched to this post).
(File removed)
In these captured logs, i can see a ERROR in line 8772 of the “Plex Media Server.log” file just around the same time when the playback stops (Dec 27, 2020 12:25:22.854 [0x149a1e3f1700] ERROR - [Transcode] Error issuing curl_easy_perform(handle): 6)
I have already read a lot on the plex forums and i often saw that this error could be DNS related. But i can not figure out why i am getting this error. The plex-server should not have any DNS issues, because the playback can be started in the first place.
For further testing i have tried to play a few more movies.
For the first movie i have used the latest version of Plex for Windows -> still the same behavior, random stops, the first after about 15 Minutes playback.
For the second movie I used plex web (url of my server) and until now there wasn`t any random stops, it played over 1h without any issues.
So propably this is an issue with the Plex player for windows?
