Transcoding error

Server Version#: 1.15.4.993
Player Version#: 3.95.2
Transcoding fails (and playback wont even start) for several movies with no clear pattern whatsoever. I tried reading the log myself but was unable to find the problem.
Plex Media Server Logs_2019-05-01_18-29-43.zip (3.1 MB)

I also searched for this problem on the forums but found no solution.

Any help would be apretiated.

Part of the problem is DNS rebinding protection in the router. It’s blocking server-client connections. (Plex uses names instead of IP addresses as part of private domain plex.direct)

You need to allow this exception (write a rule) in your DNS forwarder/ resolver to allow private domain plex.direct

Thanks for your answer!

I will look into this right now though I’m not sure my router allows this.

Again, thank you for your help.

I tried to replicate the error and found the following:

  • It fails on firefox and chrome in the same LAN and outside.
  • It works on android app either in the same LAN and outside.
