+one to add feature! My viewing patterns are very much in line with those who are requesting a remove from on deck option. I can’t use the work around of marking a season unwatched because then I loose track of which episodes I’ve watched. So, if you fine folks over at plex could figure this out, I would be most grateful
As well, as this thread being an excellent example of why a “Add to Deck” would be a good feature
Another +1 for this feature.
+1. My wife sometimes forgets to change plex profile to the kids profile, so I get a lot of kids shows on my “On Deck”. Annoying, and it should be easy to add a way to remove shows from “On Deck”.
+1 I would just like to have the option to be excluded from the list, I have shows like Looney Tunes that I play out of order and will never play them in sequence so I don’t want them to show up on Deck, similar instance for watching christmas specials.
+1. Others in the household have used my profile in error, and I’ve started watching series that I want to continue eventually, but I don’t want them on deck… it’s annoying beyond belief that this feature does not yet exist. I feel like it wouldn’t even be that difficult to do, code-wise.
Hi all, I’m no Plex coder (just a lowly Plex user), but I think there’s already a feature SOME of you are looking for built into Plex - there is a very quick way to mark all episodes of all seasons as watched/unwatched. Find the TV show in your Plex library that is showing as “On Deck” and bring that show up (not any particular season - just the main screen for that show that displays all of the seasons in your library). On the left side there will be a check button that will either say “Mark as Watched” or “Mark as Unwatched” - this button toggles ALL episodes of ALL seasons of the show watched or unwatched. This of course doesn’t solve the problem of wanting to still have Plex track where you were in whatever particular episode: if you do this but also want to come back to the show 18 months later and have Plex remember where you were in the show, you’re out of luck. I agree this is really lame. But at least it’s something.
Count me in for wanting to have more control over The Deck. People should be able to click on a movie or show that is showing On Deck and choose “Hide from Deck.” That way, if they resume watching the movie or show 23 months later, Plex will still remember where they were, but the user doesn’t have to be nagged for 23 months. It’s like service in a good restaurant: we want the service, but we don’t want the waiter to ask, “Do you want dessert yet?” after every single bite of food!

Thanks, that’s a nice workaround, but it’s not nice, and won’t work for shows with a lot of episodes as has already been said. It’ll do for now, but it’s annoying to have to toggle the state. It does work. You can mark a whole show (and thus all of its episodes at once) as watched / unwatched, if you want.
Actually, it doesn’t. I tried it for Bleach [Checked a random show in the series, to see if it worked.] I’ve since set it to watch/unwatch, and it continues to try and recommend me to watch Season 4, Episode 1.

I was referring to marking a ‘whole show’ as watched/unwatched at once.
Please don’t refer to an episode as a ‘show’. It is highly ambiguous.
When referring within Plex to a ‘show’, we always mean a whole series - not a single episode.
My bad @OttoKerner I can see the problem now. But It doesn’t change the fact that I’ve done what you said, and it didn’t change anything.

It should, if you clicked the button while on the preplay page for the whole show.
Not on the preplay page for a season, not on the preplay page for an episode.
Make sure to go to a different library and then use the ‘Home’ icon to go back to the main page. Just to rule out any browser caching issues.
If it still doesn’t work, you may have a corrupted Plex database.
This is an old post but just in case somebody else needs this answer… GO onto your server page GO TO>** settings>Library> under weeks to consider enter the number 0.**

That has already been suggested in this thread and doesn’t solve the issue here. This is not about removing the On Deck entirely, but preventing individual series from showing up there.
Sry didn’t take the time to read all post!
I saw they did away with the settings/web/dashboard item, so is there anyway to get rid of on deck items? I’m on Version 1.5.1.3520,
If you edit a library, in the advanced tab there is a checkbox for “Include in dashboard”. If you were willing to segment your content that you don’t want in On Deck into a separate library, you could leave them out that way.
I figured it out. It’s in:
setting>server>library
Change Weeks to consider for On Deck to 0
and it will disappear on all devices.
+1 again for adding a “remove from On Deck” or “hide from On Deck” option. I have several series that have many dozens of episodes and which I only watch occasionally. I don’t want to loose my place in them but they are CONSTANTLY “On Deck” which I find annoying since On Deck is given such prominence in the UI. I’d like to be able to just remove those items from On Deck without marking the entire series as Watched or Unwatched.
Also +1 this - I have a playlist of shows I watch on shuffle regularly and they clutter up On Deck. On Deck is an amazing feature that I essentially can’t use at all because there are so many half-watched shows mixed in with the real placeholders.
One of the problems i have with using plex is the interface may be simple but it is not intuitive. I have a show that i ended up not liking but the other in my household enjoys I cannot remove this item from my deck and its annoying. In the app i sometimes might have a difficult time finding a movie i should watch, but in the online view plex offers recommendations based on that movie or show. These are two features i wish was across all of plex and is a reason why i sometimes enjoy using Netflix. Feels like more can be done with the front page of plex. Maybe a recommended section and more control of the deck. Of course i like the clean style but i also want plex to seamlessly provide me with content without decision. Less time searching and more time watching. Dont get me wrong plex has gone along way in that direction.
Idk about you guys or gals but i set my on deck time to about a few weeks to eliminate a show i may have started but dont like. This can be annoying because sometimes my friends and i trade media, sometimes in bulk. When uploaded i might not notice the new season of a show im watching and because of the low on deck time it does not come up on deck. Im stuck between a rock and a hard place.
