Remove Deck Items

One of the problems i have with using plex is the interface may be simple but it is not intuitive. I have a show that i ended up not liking but the other in my household enjoys I cannot remove this item from my deck and its annoying.

If you are no longer interested in the show for yourself, you can mark the entire show as watched or unwatched, and it will get removed from OnDeck.

I really love how this On Deck works. Really really helpful.
But agree with this 100%. Watching a random episode in a series by accident or because it was one you missed the first time through, Or you just wanted to watch all the Randy Marsh South Park episodes again should not force you to watch every other episode to clear your watching queue.

I tried following this thread’s history but it is really stressful.

I want things to never show up in On-deck period! I don’t want any hacks or workarounds. I’d be happy with a simple checkbox in the series settings. Why is this not easy to do? A bool flag on the series settings menu should do the trick…

Indeed, this is such a simple addition that would dramatically increase the usefulness of Plex for a number of people and it’s going on two years now without any changes.

I’ve seen employees say this is non-trivial but I cannot understand how. Simply add a check to see if a series (or movie) is excluded from on deck and exclude it from the DB queries.

Exactly, unless they have some unmanageable DB structure, this should be a simple flag on the series and a simple addition to whatever statement they use to select the On Deck from the DB. If it’s not that easy, some kind of explanation of why it is more difficult than that would be nice, especially since what should be a quick and simple request has taken this long to get to.

Agreed, I would also want the remove from deck feature. I have a couple of tv series stuck at an earlier or wrong episode. We would be watching @ episode 22 and the deck says 22. My wife missed episode 14 for example and would go back and watch 14. deck then gets stuck @ 14 or 15 cant’ remember. It does not matter that all episodes are showing watched up to episode 22 or even 28 later it never moves on and the deck tracking becomes useless. Just removing it from deck and playing correct episode should be able to re-add tracking episodes correctly.

Another +1

Just came here to +1

I second this! I am not going to watch my wife’s shows and she now has her own account! Please give us more control!

I have an issue with this also I just watched episode 1 of South Park Season 21 and after watching it now season 1 is on deck I definitely don’t want to have to mark 20 seasons of the show watched to remove it from on deck people have been asking about this since 2015 any chance something could actually be done about it.

Also after a little more thought even if mark series watched/mark season watched options isn’t add although it very much should be. Shows should not by default go backwards to previous seasons this should have to be initiated by the user choosing to watch the older season.

+1 to add this feature (can’t believe this is still an open item after 2 years.

+1 for this feature. This is my only gripe with Plex so far. How messed up is the database if this isn’t an easy fix?

+1 for this feature, I want to exclude some shows where I only watch random episodes from showing up in the ā€œcontinue playingā€ or ā€œon deckā€ tabs, while keeping things I watch consecutively on there.

+1 for this feature, I want to exclude some shows that i have watched to a particular point but do not want to carry on. i find is odd that the only way to achieve this is to keep marking unwatched episodes as watched or mark the entire shows seasons as unwatched.

+1. I just want a way to keep a series from showing on my deck. just add a checkbox somewhere in the show settings to prevent it from showing up there.

+1 need more control of ā€œOn Deckā€ for series/episodes, etc. Wanted to watch one retro episode and was bothered by the clutter of having it stay in the On Deck until I either removed the files or ā€œwatchedā€ the entire series.

Okay watched last nights episode of The Middle only to find afterwards I have to go and manually remove the 8 previous seasons from my on deck one at a time. I can’t believe this issue doesn’t get any consideration. How about before trying to put Plex on every device imaginable you guys spend a little time on some server usability functions for your existing users. This post is 29 months old I feel like all the users asking for this are just being ignored.

No.
You can toggle the watched/unwatched status for several episodes, seasons and even whole shows at once:

+1, come-on guys, just do it
